b. The intake pipe is blocked. In some cases, it may happen that the intake pipe is blocked by the intake pipe and the flow is not smooth, or the intake of the cylinder head is artificially blocked, which may cause serious black smoke when the diesel engine is running.

2. exhaust system factors. The exhaust system is the key to determining whether the exhaust of the diesel engine is unobstructed. If the exhaust of the diesel engine is not smooth, the diesel engine will be seriously smoky.

Cause of Issue

a. The exhaust muffler is clogged. The exhaust muffler is damaged inside or the vent hole is blocked, and the diesel engine is seriously smoky.

b. The exhaust after treatment device is faulty. Diesel engines equipped with exhaust particulate filters and exhaust after treatment devices, if these devices are damaged or fail (mainly blocked), will cause the diesel engine to emit black smoke due to poor exhaust.

c. Exhaust brake device malfunction. For a diesel engine equipped with an exhaust brake, if the exhaust brake valve is insufficiently opened or abnormally closed, the diesel engine may also be seriously smoky or unable to work.

Fault hazard: If there is a problem of poor exhaust gas in the diesel engine, the diesel engine will not only emit black smoke, but also there will be a serious ablation failure of the cylinder score or even the top of the piston. Therefore, care must be taken to maintain and repair the exhaust system.

The basic method for confirming that the valve clearance is correct is to open the valve cover and check the valve clearance with your hand or feeler Gauge.
